How would you rate August 2006

I have your responses from June and July, at the end of the year, I'll post results. Please be honest, as always.

MrHunters 08-30-2006 11:17 AM

I didnt get to go as much as july or june for one reason or the other.

MotoXcowboy 08-30-2006 11:22 AM

best month I've had all year, surfcasting.

quantity=low
quality=good
no blitzes, just a single decent fish here and there.

Sluggoslinger 08-30-2006 11:48 AM

For me, it was blah...

I had a million things going on and the weather didn't cooperate for me when I did have a chance to go. September should be much better for me.

striprman 08-30-2006 02:44 PM

I caught fish each time I went. Brought home a couple nice size ones and lost a couple honkers, so I was kind of happy with my fishing from shore results. I'm going to take a 4-5 day adventure to the same place in mid September.

Slipknot 08-30-2006 02:48 PM

Its been a good August, a good year for that matter, weel see how the falls pans out.

tattoobob 08-30-2006 07:43 PM

The worst month in striper history

Finaddict 08-30-2006 08:24 PM

August ...

Overall not my best month ... although I have stayed away the last two Augusts for the most part - chocking up fishing time and doing the family thing ... had a couple of good trips and a lot of slow to nothing trips ... but this is the first year not really fishing out of a boat ... may have to try and change that next year ... fortunately Cutty is next weekend and should have a good fall.

I had a very good August around Metro Boston. New personal best of 49". I thought it would continue but the mung and grass blades was in thick and then it started blowing Northeast. Hopefully it's still on. Best time was the new moon period. I didn't see it get overwhelming with large schools but found some decent fish in the rocks. I can't believe the girths on some of these 42"-45" fish. 25"-26". Well fed. :kewl:

Top pic is a 49" with not much girth. Bottom pic is a 45" with a 25" girth. All released for someone else to have fun with.
