Search for DA White Water!

I've heard "search for the white water" when surfcasting, I was wondering what this means, cause I can't find any white water, all I see when at the beach is well...blue.

white water is the foaming water when a wave breaks

Shuley76 09-02-2006 03:43 PM

So look for the breaking waves in the middle?

Anywhere yu see white, like Slingah says after the wave breaks, the wash, along a bar, inside a cut, or along a rip.

PI was white all over today. Tough to pick a spot.

You shouldn't have a problem finding some tonite ;)

Even the Canal has 4 footers and whitecaps :D

It looks like that.
In this instance, the whitewater is making up at a point, where a straight shoreline sweeps outward, transforming itself into a coveside.

Ya I could cast about 75 feet and 300 feet of line would peel off, tough fishing

If you want a more in depth lesson on whitewater, take a look at this article by Zeno:

You can't really see it but there is a sand bar out there and 2 sets of waves
that bass will hide under the cover of the white water, made by the 1st wave
then when bait is confused and tossed around bass feed
