Canal....

Has the canal picked up at all in the last week??? I went down last Thursday with the new moon. All I saw was a bunch of schoolies being caught. What would you guys recommend to use right now for artificials??

We saw small fish Friday night. I think a fly rod would be best for them.

As always , jigs would be your best bet overall for potentially bigger fish. I like 8 inch curltails but lots of times in the fall , shad body (or similar) tails work well. And then there are eel skins.....

Thanks Saltheart,

Where would I be able to find these artificials?? Sounds like a stupid questions but I only have a walmart around where I live and it sometimes doesnt have anything good worth buying. I usually just go to Buzzards Bait when I come down to the Cape. I live in the south shore area near Foxboro.

Eelskins

Canal rig this time of year is eelskin. Lead rigs and
skins available at Maco's. Friendly, should tell you
how to rig them, Maco's near rotary at Buttermilk
Bay.

Good luck.

thanks eel,

You guys r great thanks a bunch. If somone can tell me how to rig the eel skin that would be great. If not, I will try to ask someone at Mako's. I am just trying to find a more effective fishing technique because my luck hasnt been all that great at the canal, so I am trying to change that.
