Bottom Painting Engine Bracket?

That is my question. The water line on my transom is above the lower portion of the motor bracket and the zinc. I know enough not to paint the zinc, but what about the bracket itself?

The engine itself tilts high enough to clear the water.

paint it. It will keep barncles and other nasties from growing on the bracket

I hit mine with a can of Micron lower unit spray paint. Stuff is not cheap, but you want to do it. I also used it on may stern mount transducer and bracket -- not sure if this is a good idea, but it was already a $140 trip to the marine store, and I didn't want to drop another $10 or so on the little bottle of "transducer paint" thats probably the same stuff
