habs modifications

I have a habs needle in a specific color I like and want to remove the front treble hook to make it more weedless and prevent it from hanging in the rocks. My question is, how will it affect the sinking rate and movement in the water?

I guess I can try it and see the results but has anyone doen this?

I have been using the night-n-gale needles and can cast those things a mile but they are not in the color I want.

What if I replace the fron hook of the needle with a single hook would that work?

Better yet...does anyone have an eel colored night-n-gale 2.5oz :)

Not to sound blasphemous or anthing but spraypaint the nightengale you have in the wrong color...

I was thinking the same thing but I like the colors that I have...

The night-and-gales only have a single hook on the back, so if your Habs plug has more than one set of hooks, it's not a night and gale. Probably a stubby.

Plug builders cringe at the thought of somebody painting over their lures but people have been modifying plug colors for a long time. DZ could tell you stories about all the chartreuse needles selling out on the Block and then all the chartreuse spray paint selling out at the hardware store on the Block.
