Wet Drag

Once again I fell off a rock last night and took a major dunking. Soaked my Newell (smoothe drag washers). Rest of the night it was the usual slip and grab (the drag, not me). No way I could have handled a decent fish (wishful thinking aside). I've got some replacement extreme smoothies, as well as some carbontex washers, and some Cal's drag grease. I've heard you can "waterproof" your drag by greasing the washers very lightly. The Shimano Calcuttas use greased drags, but the washers are some sort of different material. Anyone have any experience using what I got? How'd it work?

Kinda applicable:

But I do infact grease the drags on my Avets (get the grease in to protect them) then wipe them so they look clean and dry.

It MAY help you and make them "waterproof" to a degree.

But I'm not sure you can pull this off with the smoothies.
