Fisher Cats
1 Attachment(s)
I have never seen a fisher cat in the woods till this year. I have seen 3 of them out of 3 different stands in totally different areas. What's up with this.
Any of you guys seeing any?? |
I didnt see it but one ate my friends cat!
|
Put some food out and see if you can get one in your lap. I hear they're soft and playful like little kittens.

What are their predators in this neck of the woods ?
|
Yes they are around seen a few this year , And a very Nasty Critter I might say. Have a mounted one in the shop.
|
Think badger on meth with a hair across his butt. You got fishercat.
|
Not a bad thing. They can keep a porcupine population in check.
|
East cost wolverine
with paws like a small black bear.
the only game left around here is deer. the rest has been eaten. ain't seen a rabbit in years. :hs: |
Some guy at trader Jan's showing off pics of them.

Yup, MAC's right - Fishers LOVE to eat porcupines. :)
I don't think anything except for a human is going to FK w/ a Fisher in New England. I would love to throw a wolverine & a badger into a pit and see who survives (yeah - in theory I wouldn't really do it). I got my $ on the wolverine. :D Badger vs fisher could be a close battle = money on the badger! :) CT has had a huge increase of Fisher over the past decade. I am sure MA as well. I've never seen one out in the wild in MA, not a bobcat. I've tracked them, but never caught up to one. They are there. Never seen a black bear either up close = co-worker of mine stumbled across a den in ME one time and started walking backwards and the bear woke up and ran STRAIGHT at him (escape route). Needless to say he GTF out the way ..... LOL. I need to get back out to the woods again - miss the solitude. |
