who's done for the season?

Im toast. work is getting busy and i just dont have the time any more. Rods are about to go up on the racks till may. I'll poke around once in a while for a sschoole or 2, but the big rods are going up-

howd everyone do? I couldnt muster a single fish over 30 lbs, but i took june to mid october off, so i dont feel that bad about it..

Changed the oil and winterized the engine this afternoon Eben. All done. There were some really good days this year. I saw alot of bigger class fish this year in my usual haunts. May and June were my best.

BigFish 11-11-2006 06:49 PM

Done here! Put the rods and reels up this morning! On to winter projects.....and trout for a while!:kewl:

I am going to try one or two more times. I did start the snow blower and put the lawn tractor away though.

Falmouth and Plymouth

Backbeach Jake 11-11-2006 07:19 PM

Last week I thought I was, then five little fishies.....

Uncle Matt 11-11-2006 07:37 PM

I sadly wrapped it up about a month ago. I'm back in college, working a ton of hours and just don't have enough time to fish. I just run out of time. Maybe Deval's "together we can" team can add a few extra hours to each day so I can fish.

RIJIMMY 11-11-2006 08:00 PM

I may make a few morning schoolie trips but no more nights.
As far as 2006 goes, this was going to be my big year, more trips than ever, longer nights, eels, new spots, etc ....but I caught fewer and smaller fish that ever. My largest fish was 18lbs. Need to drastically change my approach next year. Another season of this much effort and so few fish, I'm not sure if I'll keep this up.

Big 'Ol Bass

There's still a few left w/ my name on 'em. The big blow surely affected them, but I'm hoping that my 3:50am alarm is worth it after all... Going to my favorite spot... We'll see. Have gotten 3 keepers there, w/ 1 over 30#. Keep the hope alive!:kewl:

ThrowingTimber 11-11-2006 10:39 PM

Wrapped it up on November 1st. Cleaned up the Man-Cave today and am going to start making saw dust for the next few months.

Clammer 11-12-2006 03:41 AM

maybe one more night trip still got some eels left got a few day trips left in the next week or so.then that will be it. It has been a pretty disapointing fall, yet I had pretty good year altogether other then june and october.

kippy 11-12-2006 07:46 AM

yesterday was my last trip. went to soco and hit about 10 areas, no bait, no birds, nothing. Time to hang it up.

Striperhound 11-12-2006 07:55 AM

Fair year for me overall. Caught my personal best this year in June. Things are changing going to fish harder May to July then the fall going forward. Out of town next week in St Louis then I will finish up the season the week after fishing down in Long Island for several days.

basswipe 11-12-2006 08:17 AM

Just a few more sunrise/sunset trips for me.

Bigcat 11-12-2006 08:56 AM

I have not run across the big schoolie blitzs yet:soon:

blue oyster 11-12-2006 09:10 AM

i'm done , boat was winterized last week , hit a few spots on the cape yesterday skunk city . for me it was a great spring , summer the usuall , grind out a fish here and there , spent the mounth of augest chasing tuna , with no luck , fall run was a dissapointment , tons of fish but no large .now 6 mounths of spending way to much money on new gear that i realy don't need :D

luds 11-12-2006 09:44 AM

Considering throwing in the towel. I'll see what this week brings. Definately throwing it in after next weekend cept for a few day trips.

BrianS 11-12-2006 09:53 AM

Im probably done... I actually did quite well at the canal Friday night.. and I felt at peace on the way home...

Maybe one more run out in the coming weeks, but the gear is out of the car.... so im probably done.

love that talk .. put the rods away strap the boards on .

piemma 11-12-2006 11:38 AM

I thought i was done....till last night. Lost a "horse" after 2 screaming runs on the 10', VS 250. This was a very decent fish. Got to keep going.

ProfessorM 11-12-2006 12:49 PM

Fished eels for 4 hours last nite at my favorite late fall spot on the south shore of the mid cape. 1 run eel bit in half. Still blues around. Couldn't ask for better weather mid Nov... 1 more trip to Westport maybe next week and that is it for me. Probably winterize the 2 boats this week. P.
