Catch of the day...
Bounced around a few spots last night hoping to strike pay dirt. Well the fish gods were not on my side as I only took 3 small bass, but the beach comber gods were looking out for me! At the 2nd spot of the night I dredged up someone else's bucktail jig. Ok, that was cool as it replaced the jig I proceeded to loose a short time after. Later in the night, as I was walking out the final spot of the tour, I went to kick what looked like a beer can in some sea weed. As luck would have it, it was not a discarded can after all. The prize turned out to be a Penn International 955 on a nice 7' Fenwick rod. After about an hour of cleaning and washing mud out of the reel, I now have a pretty sweet little fluke outfit! All in all about a $300+ find. I think it's time to buy a couple power ball tickets... :hee:

I found a squidder attached to a rod at the bottom of lake Nippenicut about 25 years ago. The rod was trash (all the wood/cork was rotted away). I put a new side plate on it and a couple bushings and a spring and It still works great. Now it has one red and one black side plate.

That's a good feeling. I found $150 bucks once folded into a metal clip on the ground in Providence. I split the money with the girl I was with. I paid for dinner; she bought some shoes. This was ten or so years ago. Things were cheaper back then.
