i'm thinking about geting this... what you guy's think???????????? it looks good..... i need something cheap like this that will work good and will catch fish without breaking on me... |
Hey Popin Plug, Have you check out Decatheron Sport Store recently? They are having a going out of business sale on all their sports products and Fishing is included. You can get Rods and Reels for over 40% off... I purchased a Rod and Reels for use as back up and together got over $50 discount. Go check them out if there is one near you... There is one in Norwood, Mass. on RT 1, right next to Mr. Tux at the Rotary... I plan to head back to get another rod and save it so when my rods break, I have a replacement.. :bl: :bl:
Already brought a rep[lacement Reels (Daiwa Emcastplus 6000) got it for $30 off... |
The line capacity looks similar to a 6500 series abu, which you could probably also find for about the same money. I saw a red 7000 at wallyworld the other day for $85.
What's almost certain is that Browning doesn't make reels, so the question is "Who makes it and who fixes it?". At least with Abu Garcia, you can find spare parts and/or performance parts anywhere. Just my 2 cents. |
Ask yourself - do you really need conventional if you are concerned about things breaking on you? And if you are a first time switcher to convench expect THAT downtime as well...
If you are looking for a good rod / reel combo to do yoeman's work in fishing get an 8' Tsunami on a used Penn 6500... Even better - tell is what you WANT to do with the combo , spell out your budget, and let us guide you a long a bit.... |
Grt something thats prooven(sp), even if it costs more. "Cheap and without breaking" can be tuff, depending on how much abuse your gear sees
