Tail gromment

I have one quick question, tail gromment is it epoxy/glued in or snugged up by the wire?

thanks again for all the info and help!

No need to glue...if it's loose your wire isn't tight enough. Any finish will also lock it down even more...

I'm guessing that you wire up the plug before you apply the finish/topcoat?

I'm sure some techniques vary, but most home builders I've seen seal, paint, wire then finish...

Getting the wire tight takes a bit of practice, but it's not difficult. There are probably some good threads in the archives if you search around.

I run the wire, and make a loop with my pliers. I then put the tag end into a vise and if necessary work the loop towards the grommet. Then I turn the pliers while pulling away from the vise, until I have the desired # of wraps. There is probably a better way, but this works well in my warped mind.
