Interesting read on SPAM
I'm in the wrong business :cputin:
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/06/te...gewanted=print I use a program called Spamnix, it works with Eudora pretty decent. I started noticing the images with the speckles some time ago and was wondering what they were. JERKS |

Can someone explain what spammers gain by their activities, other than pissing people off? For instance does in only take one sucker for every million emails sent to make what ever they are hocking profitable? Also I wonder if the anti-spam software companies are in bed with the enemy thereby creating job security.

READ the article again it TELLS you how they're making their money.
They are using hundreds of thousands of "bot" computers that they infected with a virus. So say if you turn your pc on and they infect you then every time you turn your computer on from that point forward they are using it to send thousands of emails a day. So what if some bounce, their delivery method is absolutely free. So they pump and dump a stock. Take XXYYZZ company that has a stock worth .001 cents a share. They advertise that XXYYZZ is a huge hit and they just invented the cure for the common cold. People see this and they ride the stock up to .05 a share. They just made a huge net gain by selling that stock at .05 a share. FREE advertising, free trades on some places online, it's like printing money. JERKS |
