OK You Pie In The Sky Dreamers!!!
You guys are all quite dillusional if you truely believe D-Mat is going to be worth the money the Sox have ponied up for him!!! So...that said....lets hear some of your predictions and expectations for his first major league season???
Here are mine.....I expect he will have a rough start......get belted around for about 8 starts....compile a record of about 2 and 6 with an ERA of about 4.20 and the Sox will send him down for what they will call......"Seasoning"! Everyone will use the rallying cry that he is in a foreign land and he has culture shock and is home sick! Thats pretty much how I see it going down! |
14-5 with 140 Dice-K's
if he was throwing nothing but heat I would have my doubts.I like the fact he has 4 other different pitches to throw. |
14-8 4.3 era.
|
16 - 7 3.2era 190Ks I mean Dice-K's :bl2:
Here's to not reading about him in pinstripes :gu: |
i'll grink to that :gu:
|
We will see what he is made of when he goes up aginst the AL East with line ups of big hitters.
Just look at guys like Beckett that were lights out in the NL and bombed in the AL. Baseball in Japan is not even up to par with US minor league ball. I think this was a brilliant move to sell pink hats and sox paraphernalia in Japan:bl: |
15-7 and about a 3.8......7 ERA
I think he'll start off hot because a lot of guys haven't seen him and then settle in at around .500 ball |

Larry, You have got to be the most negative person I have ever known !!! I could care less if the guys is worth or not worth the money, I'm not paying him out of my pocket !!! |
I am negative Ron because I have an opinion? You guys are fer sure dreaming....I can't wait to read the disappointment and all the lame excuses in your posts when he starts getting lit up like a 70 year old fungo pitcher!!!
What would be your idea of disappointment? |
You do realize that pro sports is a fantasy world that has little to do with our own, don't you. None of it is real, not even the money. I have a real good feeling about D-Mat. Sox have been watching him since High School. And he has the "look". Can't be explained, but he has an air about him like Schilling. Doesn't look like just another doof to me.
|
Larry,
Don't get caught up in hoping that he will fail, why don't drop the arguments and just wait and see? If you let your opinions flourish, you'll be rooting against the sox by April 1... then you'll be no better than these Skankee Fans :P. Let's just hope he does well, we've only seen his knock down pitch (poor henry :laughs: ). I want him to do well and the sox to go with him... -Dave |
Dave....I think my attitude has more to do with the silly, financial goings on in major league sports in recent years than the fact that they signed "an individual". The kind of money these teams spend and how they spend it just seems so damn silly to me and the fact that they pay this guy with no major league experience just boggles my mind! Time will tell! Sports is quickly losing me....its becoming a rich mans take....ticket prices and such! I am about done and to be honest....I do hope he falls flat on his face!:)
|
Ahh, the truth comes out. I get ya now Larry... but it's still not Dice-K's fault... if you want someone to fall flat on his face it should be Henry... (But he already did, thanks to Daisuke :hihi: )... Money is always going to be the name of this game from now on... it's an unfortunate truth... what can ya do
|
The sad truth is I can't see him getting the salary he will be getting and he has not paid his dues in the Majors as many others have......he is unproven yet he is making top dollar from the ground floor instead of having to earn his way there through performance!?!?! I just think there is something wrong with it!!!
