ibuprophen, naproxin, and acetaminophen(tylenol)
if you have been tasking one of these three pain killers daily...i urge you to read this article....
the warning labels will change in a year to indicate what this article states.... personally: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having recently watched live a colonoscopy performed on myself and an upper G.I. tract too..... on the TV monitor... i was horrified at what Motrin was doing to me also known as ibuprophen....creating ulcers in my body.... since that day....i dropped them completely and my stomach problems have disapeared! read it here: http://www.cnn.com/2006/HEALTH/12/19....ap/index.html |
But what are you supposed to take then? They remove the stuff that works (ie; Vioxx, Bextra, Celebrex, etc) and tell you to take Ibuprophen on a daily basis.

the problem is...........
you begin to ultimately trust it...
and you end up taking it for any little pain you have A U T O M A T I C A L L Y like i said to my Doctor (PMC) not to long ago.... I said... "i'm starting to get really concerned about taking all this Motrin.. for my pain associated with arthritus..." it's been ten years now! and this was because of that vioxx report.... and that stuff was supposedly perfectly safe too according to the "always right as rain".....F.D.A. YEAH RIGHT! they're in the drug companys pocket. @ my primary care physician's.....office she replied...."hey don't worry about it! advil has been around for a long time and is proven to be very effective.... dissmissing my faulty logic as just so much.....paranoia (treating me as if i was a hypochondriac) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ but my gastro-intestinal specialist said to me and i qoute: "Lets see what that motrin (ibuprophen) is doing to your stomach......." then schedualing the colonoscopy ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Well i saw first hand with my own eyes ...and it wasn't pretty! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- so she was dead wrong and i was absolutely right... i'm going to bear the pain and have a normal stomach! F___ those meds.... my recomendation is to take them only when you absolutely have too...and stop ASAP and if your stomach starts to bother you..... like "anything you eat" doesn't agree with you... stop taking them all together... i found out the hard way.... |
Let me guess.......
Ruins your liver and makes your stomach bleed? Motrin,Tylenol. Right? TAKE NOTHING. Suck it up and quit whining. That's the advice I got from a pharmacist with 35 years in the job. Dad. The older I get the more sense he makes. I also have two close friends in the same job that say the same thing. |
liver damage from tylenol
there is actually a new drug out there that is specifically
for counter-acting the damage tylenol does to your liver. |
No drug is 100% safe - someone in the population is going to have some type of adverse reaction to it. It may help millions in the population and kill a few- look at Vioxx (I have a friend who is a scientist working for the maker Merck). You have to do a little risk/benefit analysis anytime you take something.
What did Dirty Harry say? 'Do you feel lucky, punk?' |
just recieved word
this was the message:
(from my brother Gary via my Sister) Concerning my Cousin's son --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Anne, called to tell me this morning the James Marshall's 21 year old son is in a coma and not expected to live. He had his wisdom teeth taken out last week and mixed legal prescription pain killers with illegal ones and fell into a coma. He was pulled off of life support today. Thanks, Gary ------------------------------------------------------------- Sad news indeed.... Rav |
Only thing I can say is:

Healthy body doesn't need drugs.
I have have joint pain for ever since I turned 18 yrs old (25 yrs ago ...lol). I use to take ibuprofin and stopped taking it all together after I started seeing a chiropractor. I use to think they were quaks - learned I was wrong. Hard to explain until you go and get adjusted ... can't "fix" something overnite because problems could have existed for 10, 20, 30 + yrs. The older you are the slower it takes. I use to go 3 times/week and am down to once a week.... wish I made the time to go 2 times a week. I can think clearer, but that may not be a good thing. ;) You start to notice the crap you were oblivious to for so long .... you start to see there are ways out of things. Much easier to be a cloud and procede forward like we all do each day. :( My wife works for pharmaceutical company - they do all kinds of gene therapy things. Sad part is the company is there to make $, not cure us IMHO. They would go out of business if were all were heathly. ;) All the big companies compete against each other to get the products out to market as fast as possible. Unfortunately the investors want products and not excuses to why they got beat out on a patent. Sorry for your loss, Raven. :( All kinds of nasty drug interactions going on - imagine being 75 yrs old and taking 10+ pills a day .... miracle the elderly live as old as they do. Elderly friend of mine is about 75 yrs old, he meditates to control is lower GI isssues. Works much better than the pills the doctors want him to take. Human body can heal itself if we allow it. The human mind is also much stronger tool if we learn how to harness it. :) A little prayer can also go a long way. |
yeah maddog?
my wife works for a pharmaceutical company too....
and they have...all kinds of weird stuff... they make a type of fiber mesh for healing as a matter of fact...i had some installed inside me this morning.... day surgery....for a hernia i recently read a phenomenal article about joint pain and how to correct it nutritionally as the author says....its a nutritional deficiency only and i'm using that knowledge instead of meds. :btu: |
