RI Vehicle Insurance rates

Now that i'm living in Rhody i had to switch over my Metlife vehicle insurance policy from MA to RI. I had a good rate in MA for my 03 Xterra, around $550 a year for coverage. Now that i'm switching to RI from MA, metlife quoted me at almost $1400 a year!!

They said it was because of the area i live in. Since when is Cumberland more a high risk than my old town of Seekonk??

This the norm for RI? Crazy rates? Should it be double from what i was paying in MA?

I'm calling other Ins. companies for quotes.

What are you guys paying in Rhody for Ins.?

I'm paying $2200 a year for a 1999 toyota 4runner. I've got one speeding ticket from 2003. I also have the car registered in south boston though. What a load of crap///

I had a 2001 BMW 330CI before I moved to southie and the rate was the same. The way I drove that car it should have been more. Suped up rear wheel drive sports cars make me do stupid things. I loved drifting in that car.
