Personally, I have alot of trouble with this one. I love the stretch of beach on the Outer Cape, Truro to Nauset - just really started going there the last few years.. Getting to know her along with the Ditch. MV, Nantucket - those are great - can't wait until The Derby. If it was not for Block Island, I'd say from Narragansett to Watch Hill is my favorite stretch... But Block is what keeps returning to mind. Haven't been there all that much but I intend to correct that!!

John, I have a 15 year+ love affair with the Vineyard--it has everything. Open beach with high surf, rocky areas ala the Block and Montauk, quiet little backwaters that you would swear couldn't hold a school of chubs but which give up 30# class fish, even a breachway or two. Definitely my favorite stretch.

You're onto something Mike...One of the great things about the Vineyard is the fact that it has almost every type of striper structure available... You have numerous salt ponds emptying into the ocean, you've got several flats, deep water, bridges, rips all over the place, rocky sections and the best thing about an island - you can almost always find a wind that you like!
Although Block is a little easier to get to...

Are you going to the derby this year??

There you go OX... If you select the help section at the top of this page it'll go over the various UB Code you can use. I believe Tim's site uses different code to accomplish the same thing... Hey, maybe I'll see you down there soon. It's such a long drive from Braintree...

WOW this is a tough one......If I have to pick one, I would say Block Island is great!!!! We have gone up there for a week in the fall the last couple years. I love being out there the feel of the place, the fishing is good also :) I hope to hit da vinyard some day. The outer beaches are nice also, we are skipping the week on BLock Island this year and doing a week on the outer cape.........Over all, all of my favorite stretch of bass water is from Watch Hill through Provincetown.......not real narow but it pretty mcyh sums it up for me

The one I am fishing at any given time. The ocean is my best friend. Can't beat the solitude of hearing jah rythms of her. Every once in a while I'll fish with my eyes closed and really feel jah rythms inside my soul. It is almost like my rod is an extension of my being....

I fish only on Ogunquit beach in maine, since this is where we have our summer home. The problem is that there are too many people in the water during the heat of the summer plus the Maine season usually only runs from Memeorial Day through the end of September.

Hmmm....favorite stretch...:smokin:

I dunno, I think for me it's a toss-up between The Place at the End of the Long Walk and The Place at the End of the Short Walk. And last year I started to like The Place in the Middle again after giving it a break for a while.

You know the places I mean, Cap...:uhuh:

Circlehook 01-09-2009 11:01 PM

The place in my avatar is a close second to the El Canallo. If I could get out there more often, would prolly pass the ditch.

BOSOX 01-10-2009 12:03 AM

Probably the stretch that I get to fish the most...Brewster flats, from Quivet creek to Point of Rocks beach. Sure it's crowded in summertime and your chances at the really big girls aren't great, you can't beat it for alot of reasons. It used to be a great place to live line herring in the spring (maybe someday again in the future). Early summer mornings are productive, I can almost smell the smell of the predawn dropping tide...can't wait.

Good grief.

Block Island, for me hands down. If I could fish only one place, that would be it.

Big Dave 01-10-2009 07:03 AM

Pole 280 to 220

You mean to tell me there are other places to catch fish other than the canal. I wonder why I can't get my truck to drive past it?
