29 Elm st. easy to get to. get off the highway Rt. 495 at exit 4 which is rt. 105, head north off the ramp, go up to the lights at dunkin donuts and go left on rt. 28 north(west grove st.) go a few hundred yards then turn right on Elm st. , park on the right across the street in their big lot as the main lot is supposed to be for members.

$10 to get in will get you a ballot to vote for the plug contest and allow you to enter 2 plugs if you want to.

volunteers needed that day for a few things, thanks for helping.

Plug Contest-----------
2 categories-

1. a fishable plug made from some kind of wood meant to be casted or trolled in order to catch Striped bass or for a bluefish to commit hairy carrie with if your name is flap or clammer. Could also be a replica of a classic plug.

2. a novelty type plug - use your imagination and wow everyone. Does not have to be made with any wood if you choose. Put hooks on it though.

Plugs will be voted on by all present at plugfest.

here is an example of a ballot------------

Plugfest 2007 Ballot

--------------------------------------------------------------

You are allowed to keep your entered plugs after the contest is over if you choose. If you want to donate it/them to the site, it's up to you and you should let John know and give it to him.

I hope to have some equipment at the Hall for show and tell/ questions and answers type of thing.
If some of you can let me know if you have a tool to bring, it would be a huge help. Need = a mini lathe, small drill press, jigs for drill press for thru drilling operation, small belt sander?, dust collector? anything else you can think of. I can bring a few things like chisels, drill chuck for lathe, bits, hand drill, wire, some wood and sandpaper.

We have a speaker scheduled and that may happen in the morning around 10:00 or so.

I hope we can get a hold of a small round shallow kiddie pool so we can swim some plugs. I have a battery and a bildge pump to create a current/whirlpool, but we still need to find a pool.

The hall has room for about 70-90 people.

Thanks

any questions?:scatter:

Flaptail 01-02-2007 10:21 PM

Bruce, thanks for the work your putting into it.

Kielbasa, beans with onions slow simmered to release the natural juices and get yer stomachs jerkulating with excess methane.
My entry plug is already done, it's that good.

Slipknot 01-02-2007 10:26 PM

I have to test swim mine again.
I'll bring some Tums if I remember :uhoh:

crash 01-02-2007 10:55 PM

I have a big plastic storage bin if no one has a pool. Not massive, its like 20 or 30 gallons, but it may work in a pinch. I can show up early and bring a case or two of water.

Never been to plugfest, I can't wait!!

DZ 01-03-2007 10:57 AM

Someone has to have a big igloo (bass coffin) cooler? Might work better than a kiddie pool.

DZ

ProfessorM 01-03-2007 11:17 AM

I have the 162 igloo if needed.

mikecc 01-03-2007 11:30 AM

Fishpart 01-03-2007 12:35 PM

:kewl: thanks Ed
I am not worried about the depth so much. If you need to test swim plugs to see what depth they run, then you need to go to some deep water. The point we are hopefully trying to do here is just to see some kind of action.

JPI, you coming right?

ProfessorM 01-03-2007 02:49 PM

Hope it doesn't snow on you Dave this year.

Canalman 01-03-2007 02:56 PM

I might be able bring those beans again TDF... I'll ask permission :rotf3:

No Dave never.:yak4: I was talking about Dave, Justplugit, who drove all the way from Jersey and came in and said hi and left half hour later because of the blizzard we were to get later that day. A lot of driving for a half an hour. Damn no novice section, thought I may have had a slim chance.

justplugit 01-03-2007 05:34 PM

plugfest

Is there going to be a sign up thread or link like last year where we can pay whatever the fee is this year to attend. Really looking forward to it.
Eric

Diggin Jiggin 01-21-2007 10:40 PM

Bruce,
I can bring my drill press stuff again, but maybe it would be better if someone else brought theirs since really its mostly the same crowd and I brought mine last year so everyone's seen my setup already.
Let me know, its easy enough for me to throw it in the truck.

Also, I can be there early to help setup if you need help. For food, I'll be bringing a crockpot of hot italian sausages...
