fishpoopoo 01-05-2007 04:54 PM

southern new england, baby. :smokin:

jim sylvester 01-05-2007 04:56 PM

heard a report of some 40 + inch fish taken from the surf consective nights this past week

exact reason why I have not put the gear away yet

fishpoopoo 01-05-2007 05:02 PM

i hadn't anticipated fishing to last up here thru jan (other than the usual winter holdovers) ... but with the unseasonably warm weather we are experiencing, i'm not complaining.

making up for some lost time earlier in the season. :hihi:

p.s. NY State season for striped bass is CLOSED as of December 15.

fishpoopoo 01-06-2007 07:22 AM

well, i've seen fish swarming on herring in february (NY South Shore) before. shouldn't be a surprise.

basswipe 01-06-2007 08:34 AM

Saw two Gannets working something yesterday down my way.

afterhours 01-06-2007 09:05 AM

saw a lot of birds working upper bay yesterday.

I've been getting fish consistently in SoCo. Had 14 and 17.5 lbers on 12/20 and 12/21. Since then most of the fish have been smaller although I know for a fact of at least 1 40" fish that was caught withing the last 5 days in SoCo.

Finaddict 01-07-2007 09:34 PM

Ugh ... just stripped all the line off my reels the other day and packed everything up for the winter ... hmmm ....

fishgolf 01-08-2007 07:50 PM

Peanuts along SoCo shoreline

Reliable source had lots of peanut bunker close to shore last Friday.
Gulls and Loons chased them up on to shore. Gear was put away for winter so he doesn't know if there were fish with them....
Jeepers...
