Is Virginia catch and kill or catch and release?

echoisland 01-15-2007 06:10 PM

that's quite a few 50's. who keeps the records?

CowHunter 01-15-2007 11:45 PM

No Such Thing...

No such thing as Catch and release down there.....I just got back from fishing there the last 6 days. The fish are pretty easy pickens there, they are all schooled up blitzing everything down the coast. We were dropping jigs down there and pulling 60-100 bass a day between 20-30lbs. You couldnt imagine all the boats on the weekends with everyone easily boxing limits. The only advantage for the bass is that it is winter, and it can get ugly there this time of year restricting alot of boats.

There were quite a few dead fifties there the last few days during the midatlantic rockfish tournament....

they need more education.... :rollem:

Cowhunter what is the bag limit for VA?

EricM 01-16-2007 11:35 AM

That is a heckuvalota 50's. Are they massing up to go offshore for the winter? Or just camping out in VA?

PoPin Plug 01-16-2007 02:39 PM

theres gonna be no more big bass for us..... :[:crying: :crying: :crying:

CowHunter 01-17-2007 07:03 PM

More 50's and 60's are caught down there than ANYWHERE Else...

CowHunter 01-18-2007 09:47 AM

I had one last year on the boga was right around 51, wieghed in a while later on the digital 49.75. ....Family is great, hope everything is good on your end....
