Try some citrus based hand cleaner. Or lemon Dishwashing liquid. And rub, rub, rub. Some of that stuff is unfreakinbelievable!

PERFECT hand prints from when I racked them up. I'm talkin right down to the microinch it's so close..bottom 4-6" of every one of them. I added these to a run and luckily the original one's were racked the day before :fishslap::fishslap::fishslap: Pretty bad when the primer fisheyes

Really stinks cuz that is alot of work. Never EVER thought of that and when I seen what was happening I started looking at it then it hit me that it was the perfect outline of my hand and fingers. GRRR

They're in a box set aside for now. Going to have to experiment to see if they can be saved if not then dumpster material.

Raven that is some of the best hand cream I've found. My hands get so dry working with wood in the winter they look pretty aweful. The old shop was small enough you could control the moisture easy but the new place is too big to do it effectively.

Once handled some nice cherry panels with powdered gloves.First pass of the gun using conversion varnish and I knew something was wrong.
Took a little while to figure it out.

I had a similar problem with a gold leaf lettering job I did on an ambulance. The job came out perfect until 1 week after delivery when the fire dept that bought it washed it and noticed some of the shadowing coming off. I ran my finger nail across it and it came off like it was latex on glass. turns out there was Armorall on a rag that the dealer used to wipe it down before he brought it to my shop. Even after a full wash and prepsol the Armorall still ruined a 3 day lettering job. I wish it had fish eyed before I got to far in to the job, let alone finished and delivered it. got payed once did the job twice.

Mold release is silicone, I have a can of it in my shed for stuff that really needs to be slick. Been keeping my AC compressor alive with it for 2 years. Silicone is a double edged sword. Use it on the wrong plastic and that plastic will disintergrate. Read dashboards here. But if you need to yank a cat through a keyhole, silicone is your stuff. Of course now you know it ain't paint friendly...Makes paint afraid of the surface. We used to use a product called Poly-Cracker 20 years ago. It would remove it if you let it sit long enough. Would also stain lacquer. Had sodium hydroxide in it. The recent water fiasco in Spencer brought that to mind.

Thanks Fred. I've culled anything that has touched this stuff and washed everything down with full strength simple green. Seems to have cleared this up. Guess that is the new solution from now on.

smokey....I'd not be a happy camper. Specially with the cost of gold leaf.
