Planning a wedding around fishing
Read this on my desk calendar yesterday.
When To Get Married According to superstition, pick a date when the moon is waxing (increasing in size) and an hour when the tide is rising. Be sure to time the wedding ceremony so that it ends in the second half of the hour, when the minute hand is rising on the face of the clock. Don’t schedule the wedding for early in the morning. That will bring bad luck. Now you have to research the date and time you got married. Some moon phase web sites let you search past dates. For those of you fishermen yet to be married – take heed. If your future spouse pushes to get married during the down side of the full moon - you have a great excuse to put it off. I checked my anniversary: I have the right moon phase... but wrong tide. I'm not the perfect husband - maybe because of the tide. But we’re still happily married. DZ |
My thoughts are a wedding would hurt my fishing..

Thanks DZ. I am getting married soon and I will take head of this advice.
I agree with NIB however my fiance's family owns a house on BI. I hope to be fishing more. |

My friend got married during a moon
I sent him money.. |
When my wife and I were planning my wedding my only two rules were that it could not be in Sept. or Oct and she went along with it. So we set it in early May. Due to an illness in her family we had to move it up to October. Then due to a worsening condition of her mother we had to do an emergency private ceromony in September to make sure that she'd be there and we still had the planned larger wedding in October. I'm not complaining because I'm glad that my wife had her there. But I think its pretty telling that there were only two months that I set aside as months not to get married in and I got married in both of them.

At least Clogston29 gave me an Aquaskinz bag as a wedding gift. The other guy gave me some nice cigar stuff including a case but I was disappointed when I unrapped it from the tissue paper. I was hoping that it was a bm wad needlefish.....it wasn't. |
confucious say- "he who plan weddig around fishing, should plan divorce as well"
|
Umm..
what about the honeymoon :D Thats why I was very OK with August Clogston, left June, Sept, Oct alone.. Who am I kidding I had no control over when anyways :D:D |
Wedding Day Catch!
May 6, 2006 was my wedding day. That morning my best man and I along with another friend took his Carolina Skiff out in Duxbury Bay and managed to slew a bunch of schoolies in the gorgeous spring weather we had that day. The next day on our honeymoon my friends gave us a private charter on Nantucket for a wedding gift. My wife and I got skunked that morning on the boat. We rented a jeep and went to the beach where I shore casted and managed to land a couple of dinks. When we went to leave I got the Jeep stuck and we had to leave it there overnight with an incoming tide threatening to take it out to sea. Needless to say we didn't get much sleep that night worrying about having to pay for a jeep we used for only a couple of hours. When the rental guy took us back out in the morning it was still there and started right up. We dug it out and power washed it and commenced to party big time that day!

well i'll tell ya.......
it's all about Mathmatics....now adays with 50% of marriages failing.
the thing with the lunar influence is very true.... you can think of the math involved as angles ok.... in astrological influences....the position or angle of that planet out in space...in relation to earth. they call it an aspect.... so that there's good angles and bad angles.... similar to trying to make a difficult shot in the game of pool. for marriage : Best time to get married is when the moon is increasing and not yet full.... good signs for the moon to be in are taurus, cancer, leo, libra. the moon in Taurus produces the most steadfast marriage . that applies to fixing your car too for the repairs to last. :) then they say well...the moon should be well aspected....:smokin: translated: " needs a good friggan angle dude".... so like, it's most desirable.... to get married when the moon is in Taurus on a day when its well aspected to the planet of Venus. and what a great friggan line too.....:uhuh: as you get on one knee.... and your about to propose.... well honey... " i took a good look at the planetary alignment and have decided that.. the best moon in Taurus date well aspected to Venus is this day. Period. so that's when were getting married. i love you. if she doesnt fight to do exactly that.....walk AWAY because you want it to last.... so she has to want that too. it can become a real refined diciplined thing. here's this years best dates to get married then ok when these 3 signs are well aspected to VENUS and i'm being 100 percent serious for those of you getting married. the very best astrological dates are: ----------------------------------------------------------------- friday jan 26th today thursday feb 21rst taurus moon sunday march 25th monday 26th best cancer moon mon april 30th HOT : venus is trined to the moon sat may 26th libra moon sat june 23rd libra moon july 19 20 21 no aspects tho august -none thursday sept 13th libra october 31 rst lol not kidden halloween, but well aspected novemebr nada december 19,20 th not practical but tarus moon perfect |

Fishing & Marriage
I have been married twenty eight years as a preface of what I am about to relate. The first six years of marriage my wife let me fish the derby five times, and so did she. In the spring of 1985 over coffee one morning in a local eatery she said she didn't want to go back to the vineyard for vacation (during the derby or any other time). I thought my world ended. I didn't say anything for a few minutes, neither did Bev. Out of the blue she blurts thier is no reason why you can't go though. The roses bloomed, the grass turned green at that moment, and all was well when she said I could still go and have to this day. We still vacation somewhere else, but she still lets me go with Squid Kids Dad, my brother. Many years it was a dirt poor trip living out of my 3/4 chevy van, and cleaning up at a friends house, and then staying with another frind, but it was well worth it. There isn't a friekin out house on the island that I don't know its whereabouts. I put them on my GPS (ha ha).
