9'6"rod guide help
 
iam building a 9'6"foot 1 piece spinning rod with 6 guides and tip iam useing bsvlg hardloys 16-16-20-30-40-50 the 50 is 34 inches from the face of the reel.i have them spaced from the tip at 6.5-7.5-8.5-9.5-10.5-11.5 does this sound ok?i taped on the guides and flexed it and there were no sharp bends.this is my first rod so any advice would be great.

Try a 5 guide set-up in these sizes: 50, 40 25,20, 16 and 16 tip. 1st. guide 7.5" from tip. Or 6 guides: 50, 40, 30, 25,20,16, 16 tip. 6.5" from tip . 34" from spool is a good starting place for the 50 stripper.

fishaholic i taped on the 50 40 30 20 16 today and stress tested it looked reel good and then i test cast.i like that setup a lot thats the way iam going to wrap it. thanks guys
