Stripedbass can't see yellow, its been proven many a time, if you hand over the canal specials I can dispose of them for you, free of charge

Simple is good. Neat pencils, remind me of a Bagley's dub'l-O-7, a small pencil that fished real well for me a long, long time ago.

Flaptail 01-30-2007 10:03 PM

Karl, ask the Senior Angler about a George Carlezon yellow pencil like that, it's his fav pencil and yours are perfect!!!!! Nice Job!

tattoobob 01-30-2007 10:26 PM

ChiefLinesider 01-31-2007 12:54 AM

Nice, strictly business.

One of my favorite color combinations red/yellow/ maybe some white. I will take craftsmanship over a fancy paintjob anyday. Looks like you nailed it.

beautiful tail wraps. They all look very consistent. & Nice & round.

They give off a nice shine. Very even paint.

looks like love went into them

Raven 01-31-2007 06:12 AM

Backbeach Jake 01-31-2007 06:43 AM

Diggin Jiggin 01-31-2007 07:35 AM

karl, those look really nice and clean. I bought paint last weekend for some top water I'm working on. Red, Yellow, and white. You can't argue with what works.

l.i.fish.in.vt 01-31-2007 07:57 AM

I got looking at these, when in primer.. I had just looked at a lot of the newer stuff posted on here (a lot of real nice paint lately).. I was thinking how am I gonna paint these?.. I must admit.. I love looking at the fancy paint jobs.. but I'm thinking.. these are pencils.... no need to doll them up.. so... they is what they is.. ..

the two plain white.. NIB posted once that he didn't think any of us could do just white, no eyes, and leave it alone.. so I had to do it... I like 'em.. but.. I know NIB.. he will say.. the pencil isn't a flat bottom.. the danny needs two belly hooks... well..NIB knows what he likes :D

BBJ.. I doubt you did anything poorer :D..
tell ya the truth.. and Flap, the Senior Angler, and Jake will know what I mean.. (others too, right Slip?).. I was also kinda think early early AM.. at a beach that BBJ and the Senior one frequent.. what was most effective there in the last coupla years?... :)

Tagger.. these are AYC.. weigh an ounce and a half without hooks.
Beech.. yeah, I bet that would make a pissah Canal Special.

I find it hard to keep it simple, just too easy to get caught up in the glammor, not so much with topwater, poppers (I dont make many anyways) but even Danny's, goo-goo's and Conrads, seems like I always have to mess with them add colors , scales etc. I admire that you are able to keep it simple... I've probably caught more big bass on a plain light blue danny than any other plug, no eyes no B.S., but still i screw with them.. Nice example you've set, I've got some going into the epoxy tonight(all duded up) and a bunch more to be painted, I'm going to try and follow your lead!...K. I. S. S... Thanks for the inspiration! and having the corage to be "first"

Striperknight 01-31-2007 11:26 AM

Nice:jump:

Flaptail 01-31-2007 12:27 PM

K, HOWS 'BOUT A CLOSE UP OF THAT dANNY WITH THE FANCY ASS END?

justplugit 01-31-2007 03:56 PM

Plain Janes, yeah rigth Karl, Plain Janes.

Those plugs have the feeling of the 40s- 50's and eat me written all over them, along with your last year's Plain Jane needle, best needle i have ever seen, told ya that before. :hihi:

Fin Addiction 02-02-2007 08:15 PM

Damned Karl....I come into the store looking for simple needles and pencils and you say *NOPE*.....Those will work WONDERS where I use em...and it won't be out of one of these...:ss: I'm offering to buy a few to spank a few of those lower cape offshore bass...:buds:

Slipknot 02-02-2007 08:39 PM

Jeff, REAL men surf fish out of one of those:ss: :laugha: :humpty:
