Compressor question-
My compressor has been stored in the cellar over the winter with the valve open. Each time i finish using it i open the valve and blow out any moisture , and again before i use it next time. This time as i blew it out i tilted the tank to be sure i got all the moisture out. Out came a small pool of a grey/brown liquid. Checked the oil level, and it was fine. Any ideas of what it could be??
Thanks. |
sure you didn't confuse your compressor with your still again ..

It's just rust from the liquid that forms in the steel tank..
It is common.. |

Thanks. :btu: i figured the brown was rusty water but couldn't figure out the grey sludge mixed in. Worked fine no moisture in the line. :)

ahhh rust slime.. like what i get offa the undercarriage of my truck when I wash it.. grey poop, might be from when they painted the tank at the factory.. whatever ended up inside the tank came out with the rusty water..
I tilt mine every time when I do the tank bleed and get a nice spray pattern of rusty slop :D |
