Icon Plugs
As I was spinning wood and my mind was freewheeling ( nothing new there, but you know what I mean) I thought that there are some plugs that are icons-you see it and you immediately think of a spot. For instance, the Pichney Conrad = the second rip at the Race. The Canal Special and the Smilin'Bill = the Ditch. Any others that you folks can think of?

I always think of the Race when I see a black sinking needle. Pencils mean it's June on the Jersey shore.

Mac Pike (schoolbus).. spring, on the sound side. blk/silver, or blue/silver rebel windcheaters... Brewster Bayside, in my youth, and Nauset of the seventies/ early eighties. blk/gold yozuri mag darter.. just about anywhere on the backside after dusk. bombers.. P Bay. Hey.. Fred.. whaz up wit dis?.. a mid winter spot burn ;) :hihi: :D |
Spot burn? Moi? :hee: Was just thinking of lures that were made famous by spots and vice versa. And plugs that are just and icon alone. You say saltwater plug, I think immediately of an A-40. No ulterior motive at all. But now that you mention it, this info could be used for evil.:hs:

Can't get anymore synonymous than "Block Island and Needlefish" it was the true "needlefish proving ground" in the 1980s. It's still referred to as "Needlefish Island" by some .
Montauk and Darter are hard to separate. Cape and Finnish Minnow (Old Rebels / Redfins) DZ |
