Rapala Knot
Anyone use it for swimmers and jigs.
I learned it from a guide in Costa Rica who swore by it for his bucktails and swimmers. Leaves a loop in the knot so the lure swims more loose and natural. |
yup. i even run my breakaway clip in it.

I'm a big fan of the no-slip mono loop. Very similar but different.
http://www.fintalk.com/fishing-knots...mono-knot.html I've never really tried the Rapala knot since the no-slip never lets me down. Looks like the Rapala is just "improved" in the same way a clinch is, so it's probably just as good as a no-slip. |
So these hold? It was wild, this guy would untie and retie when changing lure instead of clipping them off. I thought he was crazy at first but he could do it fast with no tools. He also ran an 80 lb leader in the surf for Snook and laughed when I told him I had 40lb leader. Great guide with lots of energy. I'll be using this knot to tie on my darters jigs and swimmers/

Rapala knot
I tie it w/50lb fluoro to attach a popper or jig to a sbft spinning set up. Caught 12 up to 100lbs so far with no losses. Its basically an improved clinch knot with a loop.

improved clinched knot to terminal tackle always with everything
|
i use a polamar with braid. it'll slip through other knots.
