Anna Nicole Smith died Thursday after collapsing at a hotel and being being rushed to the hospital, one of her lawyers said.

Smith collapsed in her room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene and had been intubated. Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST and her attorney confirmed that she had died nearly an hour later.

I think we can write this one up to an overdose.

Any bets?

Its confirmed.

BassyiusMaximus 02-08-2007 04:52 PM

Her son died not long ago, she had a baby, I can't help but to think she had a broken heart. No matter what, a broken heart is a tough thing, addiction or no addiction.

The Dad Fisherman 02-08-2007 05:03 PM

Shame, she was absolutely Beautiful in her early career.

Proof that Money doesn't by you happiness

Raven 02-08-2007 05:03 PM

some people are on the path of self destruction...

Young Salt 02-08-2007 05:09 PM

if you saw the reality show she had, then you know she had a few screws loose.......she was also as big as a house. shortly after the show she dropped all the weight, but her face looked completely different.

kathy griffin had this joke that the secret ingredient in Trim-Spa was heroin

stripersnipr 02-08-2007 05:12 PM

It's a sad story no matter what you thought of her.

Slingah 02-08-2007 05:22 PM

sad.......

BigFish 02-08-2007 05:36 PM

I agree with Stripersnipr......I was not a huge fan and could do without the likes of her....very sad however.

spence 02-08-2007 05:50 PM

Self destructive doesn't begin to describe her...

My heart goes out for her six month old daughter who's going to be in the middle of an ugly custody battle.

After her short, tormented life, she now has peace.

Skip N 02-08-2007 05:58 PM

Must be a slow news day, the way the cable news networks are covering this you'd think an important world leader died. But no, all this coverage for a girl who's famous for posing nude, and marrying and old crusty rich guy for his billions.

I feel bad for her and her family, but this much attention? Get real

spence 02-08-2007 06:08 PM

Yup, it's a slow news day...

Wouldn't think we're at war in Iraq would you?

this may sound cruel but hardly.... she did have choices to make in her life.

I feel bad for her daughter....and her late son....

she had a great life but chose to be self destructive.

always tragic.... RIP Anna.

FishermanTim 02-08-2007 06:54 PM

Being her son during his "formative years" was probably no less traumatic than "Mommy Dearest".
Not to be too cruel, but at least she can't ruin the baby's childhood like she did her son's.
Unlike most "famous" stars that try to keep their kids out of the celebrity meat grinder, she shoved hers right in without consideration of the consequences. From the appearances she made up through this event, she sure seemed to enjoying herself way too much.
Too much party, not enough parent.
It's a sad waste of a life. Any addiction based death is a sad end.

Tagger 02-08-2007 07:03 PM

Some people ya just see it coming .. I'm sure we all have friends you just know are pushing the limits . Wasn't a fan ,, but when ever I saw her she was messed up ,could hardly talk . I wasn't surprised when I saw she had passed .. rip Anna

Raider Ronnie 02-08-2007 07:06 PM

Isn't this the gold digging silicone filled whore who married some old millionaire who had one foot in the grave !!!
I feel bad for any kids she may have, but
She overdosed and died, sorry but I could care less!!!

Mr. Sandman 02-08-2007 07:15 PM

She was just too "over the top" for me. Too much excess in all directions. If I had to bet on her cause of death perscription OD.

jimmy z 02-08-2007 08:11 PM

Maybe. My heart goes out to the little one.
I hope she's at peace.

Raven 02-09-2007 09:06 AM

certain combo's of downers....say...
a mix of oxycodone and morphine substitutes seem to shut you down...

it's called the hot shot dude...

i have lost friends to it... out in Cal...
john beluschi same deal... my cousin last month
he had percasettes with methadone and it killed him
he was 20 yrs old. :hs:

there's still allot that we don't know about
drug interactions, side effects,
that it's literally killing us

Swimmer 02-09-2007 11:56 AM

I can't believe regular programming was pre-empted to broadcast news of her death. Very sad indeed, but for an unknown stripper, druggie, centerfold, bad mother, very bad mother, she went a long way.

JohnR 02-09-2007 02:31 PM

Don't be suprised to see the current "starlets" on this same crash course... Brit/Lohan/Hilton, etc...

They all seem to have lost the deeper genes of self respect and control...

Awful when this happens to anyone but not a suprise by any stretch

We might not agree on much but this we absolutely do.

How sad that a war that has claimed over THREE THOUSAND young Americans played second fiddle to some stupid drug addict bimbo dying.

chuckg 02-09-2007 03:38 PM

At least it got the astronut off the airwaves for a while...
