Its March Dammit!

March 1st for me is the light at the end of the winter tunnel!:btu: Yesterday and today were good indications that Spring is just around the bend! Heard some birds singing yesterday and today....don't know what they were but they only come out when Spring is nigh! Time to start cleaning the gear and such.....mid-April will be upon you before you know it!

MrHunters 03-01-2007 05:29 PM

our apartment is 80 degrees all winter.... (3rd floor cant control the heat) so we always have the windows open.... I got the spring smell through the window when i woke up today.... soon veery soon

When I went out to my truck this morning I heard birds too. First time this year. Come on SPRING....

I have all my gear cleaned, repaired, new drag washers , all rods ready boat & shore, a ton of jigs tied up and ready to loose. waiting for my shipment of mono form FLA.
Gonna make some rod holders for trolling out of PVC who needs stainless, I'm not into flash but something that works, plus it's it's alot CHEAPER.
If the ice is out of my holdover spots I'll be all over them by sunday someone has to wake them up.
Link SR::smokin: cool: :bo:

they announce the arrival of spring

it is their JOB

On rt. 6A in Barnstable the crocuses and snow drops are in bloom along some of the rock walls. That's a sure sign and the light and shadows are different, they have that spring feel. It's started.:uhuh:

Raven 03-02-2007 06:08 AM

Dont look outside today. It looks a little white to me to be spring yet. But I love the positive thinking.

fishsmith 03-02-2007 06:35 AM

its all rain now - any snow can't last. This was one easy winter.

l.i.fish.in.vt 03-02-2007 07:48 AM

well ,today doesn't like spring is that close up here in Vt. snowing heavy with 16 inches expected.march can be very snowy up here which is what i live for, hate to rush the seasons.

fishonnelsons 03-02-2007 07:51 AM

Well John, sorry but you can keep the snow and cold!!!!

I just thought that for the winter you holed up in your little shop and made thousands and thousands of plugs for all the little boys and girls. Now I know the truth - you ski your arse off!!!

My brother and I hunted in Vt. during 60's & 70's. Beautiful state. Great memories. Don't think I'd want to live there in winter. Too much wood chopping and shoveling for me!

Raven 03-02-2007 08:57 AM

the wind last night

sounded something like wolves howling....

it was creepy....like a horror flick...

l.i.fish.in.vt 03-02-2007 04:29 PM

Rich,i do have lights in the shop, ski all day work all night.just hope that we don't get too much snow that i can't get the trailer out to bring to Florida for spring training.

the early daylight savings this year will be a good harbinger as well!

luds 03-02-2007 05:34 PM

you guys are pulling the trigger too early:doh:

FishermanTim 03-02-2007 07:08 PM

Daylight savings time is NEXT Sunday (the 11th).
If that alone doesn't get your thoughts turning to surf and stripers, I don't know what else will.
