Raven 03-02-2007 08:03 PM

i'd still use a mouse.....
instead of the laptop dialer....(curser control)

but thats just my preference.

Bigfish your gonna be a technical wizard soon...

Raider Ronnie 03-02-2007 08:23 PM

When I first got my laptop, I found not having the mouse pain in the ars,
but as I got use to the pad, I love it and prefer it !

fishsmith 03-02-2007 08:55 PM

wireless mouse and keyboard. can't be beat. $30 -$40 money well spent.

BigFish 03-02-2007 10:35 PM

Yeah we are gonna pick them up!

Redsoxticket 03-02-2007 10:52 PM

A portable charger for the truck for those areas that have free internet when your battery is going low. There are web sites that explain how to hook up remotely to their free internet.

"uffah!!" 03-02-2007 10:55 PM

Just make sure you DON'T leave it on your bed while charging!!!!!!

BigFish 03-02-2007 10:57 PM

Because???

Yesterday's news showed a house fire caused by a lap top that was on the bed.

Thanks for the heads up guys....this one stays on the table downstairs!;)

The battery is a good question in itself.

I've heard both :
1. always leave it plugged in
2. unplug it often to let the battery drain just about all the way.

I let my battery drain. My hopes are this prevents it from getting memory.

goosefish 03-03-2007 07:51 AM

yeah I always unplug mine and run the battery down. Then I charge it back up again. I've had this laptop for four years now and the battery is still decent--about 1.5 hours of time when not hooked to a plug.

labrax 03-03-2007 12:38 PM

I know laptops that I have had always have benefited from using the battery and running it down all the way about once a week. Compaq even suggested that the battery be removed from the unit if it was going to be plugged in all the time. I have seen too many people that never used their batteries or rather only very rarely used them, and when they went to use them they were capable of running the laptop only a few minutes before shutting off.

Good luck with the new laptop.

Lets us know how you like the new Vista if you got it?? I hear it has lots of bugs?

Redsoxticket 03-03-2007 02:58 PM

I would keep the computer plug into the ac source. However once I begin to use the battery as the power source then I let the battery completely discharge before charging up.
