Any Info. on Casco Bay boats ?

Does anyone have a Casco Bay Skiff or Runner out there, or has owned one, rode in one or knows someone that does ? I am curious on how this boat rates overall.
Also trying to get ideas on different ways to set this boat up for fishing. Any comments - suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I thought Casco Bay went out of business. We had a dealer in Charlestown that had a couple and couldn't get rid of them because they couldn't offer a warrenty. Were built by the same company that used to build Maritime Skiffs.

Yes they have been out of business since 2000, I am told. I was also told that they were a well made boat, with a "Seacraft type" hull.

I don't think there was any connection to Maritime Skiff.

Casco Bay boats were made by Americon in Auburn, Maine, but I think they were only made for two years. A few of the Boston area dealers carried them and I have seen several used ones for sale locally.

If you can buy a Maritime Skiff instead you will have much better resale. Even a Key Largo or a Palm Beach would probably be better.
