GAS LINE Froze
those howling winds were fierce last week and actually froze the gas line in the wife's car....
because it wouldn't start for nuthin for a couple of days ....i pulled a side boot out of the air manifold and sprayed in some ether and it kicked over ... then quit.... a sure sign of fuel starvation.... requiring three more spray and starts to get it to run again. This morning despite a real hard frost here this morning it started just fine. Come on spring,,,,, you can do it  |
Diesel? Or is there moisture in the gas line?
|
no swimmer it's a toyota Camry... and that was the first time it wouldn't start period... when it was in the single digits with wind chill.
i must have cranked it over 200 times and it would not catch. the battery was starting to get weak... it's the only thing i could think of ...unless the butterfly mechanism on the carb wouldnt close for a full choke .....it just wasn't gonna start. then when i tried ether...it started and quit.. started and quit like only the ether was being burned... running fine now , and spring like temps have arrived thank god. |
Ethanol can cause moisture too, especiallly if it sits in the tank for awhile. :(

yep.. mine don't get to sit too long.. tho.. been told that a half full or less tank isn't good either.. condensation forms faster.. or sumpthing like that. |
