Plug Hook Set

For which type of plugs do you hold off immediately striking and setting the hook, allowing the fish to somewhat tighten up on the line, before setting the hook?

Most importatntly I'd say the surface stuff where you see them slap at or strike it. Pencils, poppers, howdy's, spooks, etc...

I set up immediately with plugs. It's live-bait where you need to wait. However ITS was correct about topwaters. You need to wait until you FEEL the fish rather than setting up when you SEE the boil.

All of the above. Feeling that resistance is usually the only thing that alerts me to the fact that a fish has my plug if it is below surface, especially at night. On the surface, you can see the fish attack your plug, but don't set until you feel it.

Top water gotta wait for the hit that pulls back. I lost countless fish over the years from short top water hits.

It's almost time!

In most cases I just let my braid and VMC's do the majority of the work.
