probably tree huggers that think "the fishy won't hurt me.... It's my friend"

Good candidate for the Darwin Award

I second what CLS said, WOW that is some sick stuff. Those guys got a serious death wish. I like towards the end with the shark coming straight at you and the camera in his mouth. holy moly I gotta show that to Thomas later.

ProfessorM 03-24-2007 05:40 PM

Tempting fate. Sooner or later they will end up like that guy that was befriending the Grizzly's. Dead as a doornail.

Look Again........................

Once again I'm not with the masses on this one.

After a second look, I thought these guys paid attention to the details. Did anyone notice the fresh hunk of fish and the school of fish near the boat? Also, at anytime did those Greats seem to mind what waz happening, did their posturing seem aggressive, did they ever seem like they were about to feed? Those guys also had their gouging weapons at the ready.

They, wisely, did not show us the part where they lured the Greats with chum. They prolly fed them to the max, then kept some fresh meat hanging within reach should they feel the urge to EAT. Got a leetle nervous when the second feesh showed up out of the blue...........................

It's the same scenario at your local aquarium, the reason the tank cleaners and the feeders can go in with sharks is because a well fed shark won't attack.................in theory. Most shark experts will agree, when great whites attack humans it's clearly a case of mistaken identity.

Thought that waz pretty cool, swimming with Great White Sharks. Very unique, and kinda dispells the whole JAWS mentality/myth doesn't it? Refreshing to see such a majestic fish treated like a beautiful fish for a change, instead of the CRAZED maneater of Peter Benchley's imagination. I thought those guys showed ballz, true grit, and creative genius to present one of our more beautiful creatures from a more realistic perspective!! In general the French are still cowards, but not these two.

Now, SKISHING, off the MTK Light..........................that's the stuff of Darwinian Idiocy on the highest order. At night, lookin' like a seal, got fresh fish prolly no more than 30 yds away, and point blank range when releasing said striper.......................Those cats are CRAZY!!!!!

Won't be loooooooooooooooong now, gents!! Almost time to GEAR UP!!
Hope to touch base with alot of youse guys at RISAA.

And apparently not hungry. They were probably just fed heavily right before the dive.

These guys are the dumbest people alive....nobody can tell me differently.

If they're not dead already, they will be soon.

Bernzy 03-25-2007 06:16 PM

Right On BassTracker

I agree that it was nice to see a magnificent fish treated for what it is, and NOT as a human hating villain with fins. They aren't out to devour humans, but they do occasionally mistake us for their food sources. Millions of years of evolution have honed their instincts to feed on the creatures they swim with, not those who very occasionally visit their realm. I don't think those guys are fools, but they are ballzy! No doubt they are scientists who have a depth of knowledge about the GW that allows them swim with the fish in safety. This is the type of thing that will turn the public mindset to embracing such misunderstood but necessary creatures. With all the seals showing up on the Cape it won't be long before you can see GWs in numbers right here in good old NE! Can't wait- maybe there will be shark watching boats to take us out. I'd pay for that!
