3 hours, one hit....

Schoolie Monster and I went out to old reliable last night. Fished 3+ hours of the incoming with just one light hit, but that one light hit followed by a light run resulted in a good battle after the hookset--- 45inches 31.8 pounds (weighed in for tournament, exact weight by certified scale so if anyone does not like the .8 they can smooch my cheek ). Not my biggest one this season but my biggest one kept... and only the second bass I've taken home this year, all others released and I'm still having one of my best summers

BTW-Jenn, I was unable to make it to the Cape this weekend to fish with you and your hubby. I had to stay in order to pack for the move....

Yep ... Went out last night with the Schoolie Monster and the Orkin Man and got into more nice fish and had a bigger bass than Fridays pull me in to the rocks 5 minutes into the fight and break off. My 1089 Saber was bent damn near the reel seat ... We all landed some nice bass into the low 20#er range though, oh and yes...all on eels

Sounds like your into some nice fish and having some fun. I'm getting my freshwater gear set for a smallmouth trip to Maine this coming week, so I won't get back to the salt for a couple of weeks. I hate to miss the hot action of late, but I'm also pumped to get out in the Maine woods with my brother in law. He lives up in Ellsworth and we only get together a couple of times each year and the end of September is a great time to camp and fish up there.

Give em hell John, hope you get a 50 before the seasons done, tight lines.

Overall, it has been pretty good fishing. Nice bass at night from Scituate to Pt Allerton so I can't complain... Here is a shot of that fish...
