suggestions for a digital camcorder
 

I want to get a handheld digital camcorder. The last camcorder I bought was a looooooong time ago and it used a High-8 dat-like tape. It still works but its very out of date and I would like to get a fully digital unit. I let my kids use it but now they don't even want to use it. I see the new units are fairly cheap these days too. Any suggestions? I know very little about these things I have been taking mostly stills.

I have a Panasonic 800 X digital zoom, 24X optical zoom and I think it's the best thing since Fireline. Great camera for videos or still shots, very computer friendly, absolutely great for making DVD's from the videos. Short money too for the quality.
