Head to the wall should be a great day for it:eyes:...Biggest fear today is the Leach field getting overwhelmed, this is the kind of storm that will do it.... |
#^^^^^^&,
I keep hearing about the East Wall. I am from Nj and fish a spot called the North Jetty in Nor easters. I imagine it has a similar trap effect on the bait. The fish go crazy. Anyway, I have only been living in RI since January. Any suggestions on how to find this "spot" would be appreciated Thanks, Bill |

Due to anal retentivenes I am barred from speaking of such things, as much as I would love to give advice and location specifics regarding 12inch fish..I am barred from doing so..I will say, I know of no such place called the "North Jetty"..Any attempts by me to publicly help you will be met with:hang: Therefore send me a PM if you like and I will try and give you some help......:wavey: |

So in answer to your question, the East Wall is just west of Point Judith Light in Narragansett. The next 48 hours would not be too conducive to walking it in order to scope it out... (probably a little dangerous today & tomorrow) - Welcome to S-B |

In my case John, Its not wise for my mouth to "runneth" over...even a little:kewl: But since you craked open the door..............The east wall is much better in the fall than in the spring, most of the ballgame takes place in Matunuck...so getused to the crowds on the west wall and have fun....Next weekend that place is going to explode with fish (and fisherman) |
Town and US Fish & Wildlife officials are watching a potential new breetch on Monomoy. tjough the southway appears to be permanently filled in, a new area is dangerously close to busting wide open. Whether this happens or not, fishing Monomoy will be different this year.
4:30pm sunday and the winds are building in Hyannis...all kinds of warnings on the local radio. I spoke to a friend in Nag's Head, NC who reported 6 hours of sustained winds over 35 with gusts over 50. not much damage there but he had not heard form the Hatteras Island crew. Batter to be prepared and ready as this oone might be real. |
Just heard on TV..2 TO 5 inches of rain tonight..Yikes..
Anyone taken a look at this tide
Water might be on the road under the Sakonnet river bridge by high. -spence |

I drove through Goshen, CT to go sailing today and we drove through some heavy snow, some places we drove through looked like they had 2" of snow on the ground. Where we sailed, it dodn't snow, but we were in a valley, and you could see it snowing in some fields higher up.
Take a look at the wave heights and dropping barometer from South to North.

45 MPH Gusts at BB http://www.striped-bass.com/fishing/...buoy-data.html
I went down to naraganset at the peek of high tide the waves were huge crashing up over the wall into the road. Lots of people down there ejoying the view.
going to probably be a bigger surge tomorrow, but a lower predicted tide, but bigger waves. could be ugly unless you are a surfer!
I guess the praying for the beaches to build back up was in vane. I heard that the damage from Newburyport South has been brutal already. Maybe the beaches will be battered and the plovers will not nest early. That will spell disaster for the surf fisherman. For those who fish the Merrimack River at the mouth and near the jetty, the banks are really steep and there is very little area to work from. This storm will exasperate the matter even more.
FYI -- I was on Plymouth Beach today and spotted several plovers and lots of sandpipers. |
Gonna be interesting what happens after the storm
Gusting to 53 a stones throw from my house :hidin:
Barometer is dropping like a rock, and the wind is honking for sure, can feel the house move when a gust hits it. gonna go look for surf clams early. steady 40 knots outside my guess, never seen my dog squirt so fast. and the storm center is still a bit south of us.
51 at the shop and it was like continuous waves in the road it's raining so hard with the wind. nasty.
OMG the sky is falling:rotf3: it's just alittle liquid sunshine.
30ft seas at stellwagen now, great for cod jigging, no need to take the rods out of their holders :smash:
I have a larg part of a tree down in my yard and a few sections of fence that blew out as well.....Could have been worse and hit my house...OH WELL, got some clean up and fece repairs to do....
Lost a couple sections of fence. No power.
Guy across the street had a 30' section of tree come down from 25' up the trunk and take a smaller tree with it between 2 houses. Both landed between the two houses... |
We probably had a few hurricane force gusts. A huge one woke me up about quarter after two.
Lost about 10 shingles off the roof, no other damage that I can see. No flooding--elevation + sandy soil/great drainage. Have to check out my mom's place later--I'll bet she has some downed trees ;) |
I had a couple good size tree tops come down......more yard work!!!
At my moms now, no damage here but Huge , huge tree came down about 4am right near my house ripped the wires off everyones house, no power, telephone pole snaped like a twig! On the way to home depot now ...Have a couple of fence sections to replace.Think the power will be out for a while...This is fun !:bounce: the perils of living close to the water...winds were much stronger
My house is without power:hang: , my generator and 1100 GPh pump are doing their best to keep the Ipswich river out of my shop....
Getting close to 2 ft of snow in the mountains of Maine. May get one more trip in.
