Empty Gas Tank ????

Here's the deal :
Link Jr's uncle gave him a 17' Targa Tracker 1999 and we have got the thing ready to go ,the gas tank has been empty for a couple of years but I ran the engine through a remote tank .
What would you use to clean and refresh the existing tank that has no gas in it? Should I get a 12 gal tank and use that or do you think the existing tank can be used.
This will be our boat it's got a 60hp merc 2 stroke . The Trophy I have is for sale with everything, we are downsizing
thank you LINK SR

Put some Startron Tank cleaner in it with some gas. Not the regular Startron

1. NICE UNCLE !!he's got to be the favorite.

I'd put in a fuel filter, and bring along a portable can just incase.

I would put in a quart of gas. Shake the can vigorously for about 5 minutes. Empty the can. Add another quart , shake again for a few seconds , empty that. Fill the can , check for leaks. use it!

Take the two "dirty" quarts of gas and burn them in the lawnmower.

Mike, I drained that tank almost dry 3 years ago. It holds 26 gallons so put 15 gallons with double Sta-bil, add a racor fuel/water separator and you will be good to go. The key with the new fuel is to have a good 10 micron filter inline. I would recommend that you have it tuned up and the link sync to get the carbs balanced out. The water pump impeller is new and should be fine. Pete

Thanks Pete almost ready to dunk her, I'll put some new plugs in and run it local and then have the carbs tuned
