The time is now!

Lost count of the bass I caught this afternoon/evening.Considering the northerly point at which I caught them they should be everywhere.

All hail the straight east wind. They were stacked!

good for you.

Fish were still there but without that straight east wind they were nowhere near as stacked up but they were still cooperative. The rain was a bummer as I didn't have my wet weather gear and it was kinda chilly.

I'll hit it again tonight.

Took Jane with me Thurs.......one bump was it.Tried a few west side spots and nothing. The action down this way seems to be in the river.

It's good to see that there is some action this far north (are you fishing around your home area?) I've been taking road trips to soco RI for only a couple fish. I live a lot closer to you (I'm in SE Mass). Do you think those fish are holdovers? I wish there were more holdovers in the Taunton river (very close to me), but I think the pollutants in that body of water probably kill em off before spring!

Not holdovers that's for sure. When I say river I'm speaking of the Sakonnet which really isn't a river.

Hi All,

A friend and I went out in the Westport River yesterday for about an hour in the AM. We both hooked up with some small (read very small) fish. Also got some bumps and swirls. At least we got to see some fish and it was good to get the boat in the water. :kewl:

How many seals? Seen reports of seals in the river in the fisherman.
Need to know if I should bring the 9mm.

Thanks John, that pin was earned in the Old Days, 1971 to be exact.

Striperman, we didn't see any seals. We were fishing up river where they are less likly to be seen.

BTW, those BigFish pencil poppers work good.
