There's chuffed, and then...
.... there's Dead Chuffed. :bl:
Saturday afternoon in Matunuck with the fog in at the shore, had one fish in the first couple of hours (begone foul skunk...), a few others intermittently caught by the other guys there - they were there, but slow, with the occasional groups. Kept on casting; finally a few more at slack tide and the start of the drop as evening fell. All in the 14 - 18" range. By this time, I was seriously glad that I had brought my coat (and seriously wishing that I had worn the neoprenes instead of the breathable waders - that water is not warm!). I was also remembering how to walk with wading boots filled with sand (how exactly does so much get in?). After dusk, a hit, then played a fish to shore that made me think that I had the drag set too loose (had the adrenaline going though). To my surprise, this one had me reaching for the measuring tape...... 26", 6 lb.   There's nowt wrong wi' striper thumb. |
Nice Early Fish
Wish my O Mist bass were as big as yours. Mine were all 10-12 inches. I had a borderline keeper there early last spring. The twinkies had lulled me into carelessness and I lost it at my feet because I horsed him and straightened the hook. Doh!
