Charter fishing mid cape

Greetings,

A coworker of mine asked me for if I could give her some info regarding taking her 13 year old nephew fishing during the July 4th week on the cape. She seems pretty open to possibilities but did not want to bring him out on a large party boat so smaller charter boats would prpbaly be mor interesting to them. That is not my kind of thing but I told her I could ask. They will be staying in Dennis.

She enjoys fishing but her nephew is really into it.

Any info regarding appreciated.

Thanks

Here you go,
alan (little round) is one of the sponsors here

I would recommend Alan too - yes, he is a sponsor here but he is also used to taking kids on charters and his first mate, while a little loud, is a good guy and member here (and that was a joke for the first mate :hihi: )

I also strongly endorse Little Round/Alan. He is a great wealth of knowledge, easy going, and very kid friendly. He would be a fine choice.

Agreed with little round. You'll have a great time and he's got a sweet boat with quality gear...

If they want a true olde Cape Cod Charterboat experience then I would recommend The Seawitch, Capt. Lucky Singleton out of Barnstable Harbor at Millway on the bayside. Lucky has been chartering for over 40 years, knows his stuff and knows more of the old Cape lore than just about anyone.

I mated for him in the 70's, he looks like an old Cape salt and talks the talk and Cape Cod Bay in July is usually calm, beautiful and the bass abundant. Not a big boat, just a 32 foot Wasque made for this type of fishing. A total experience of something that is getting harder and harder to find, a piece of the good old days on the Cape.

A history lesson, bass fishing and a connection to the past all in one trip perfect for a 13 year old and his family.

Flaptail - Lucky sold the boat this winter - somebody down in LI bought the boat and is redoing her. He is officially retired. Going to be wierd this summer not hearing him pontificating on the radio.

End of an era.
