Samson Fish kalbarri Western Oz
Dad caught this one from the beach the other night. Would have let it go but it was in poor condition and wouldn't have survived. its in the freezer now.

Now if you were in florida I'd say amberjack. Good job from shore. back in 89 I worked a charter boat down there with a friend of mine. If the mahi or sails weren't cooperating we could usually salvage a trip by fishing for AJs. Fun fish.

The weather came good and so did the fish.
A 20kg (44lb) mulloway off the beach north of Kalbarri WA Hi MAC amberjack is a very close relative of the samson fish and yep it put up a very good effort as did the mulloway. Cheer's wafarmer |
