94 Yamaha 150 Saltwater Series
 

I have a 1994 Yamaha 150, 25" shaft, Motor runs and runs pretty well.

I bought this motor for my Wellcraft, and it worked well, the guy told me that he had put a new water pump and T stats, and screens in the lower unit. The year before I guess they sucked up some crap and it over heated a little.

Well what he did not tell me is that they also put a cooler plug gaped short so that the motor would run cold :zup:

When I went to do the tune up I put the right plugs and gaped right and it heats up with in 1/2 mile of the ramp. I never let it get hot hot! And it still runs good.

Now I am not sure if the motor is junk or is the passage ways are pluged with sand or something? Maybe he put the water pump in wrong?

Either way I just got out of hosiptal and have no want or time to play with it and I have bought a used Evinrude that runs awsome!

Was and might go on ebay for parts or I will break down and part out? But like to just get rid of the hole thing.
