I DID IT!!!

"Larry" (pictured below with me), short for Larry Bird, measured in at 33" long.

My biggest catch ever, it beat my goal of catching a 30" striper by 3 inches!

Carl would be so proud of me.

Thanks to all the tips and well-wishing. What a rush.

Sweetieface 08-05-2002 04:05 PM

Here is a picture of Sweetieface's fish. If they are getting fish like this on the north shore, maybe we should take Ross up on his get together offer.

bloocrab 08-07-2002 02:54 PM

..Forgive me for saying this but...

....you picked the PERFECT name for the site (sweetieface);) that fish bit cuz he knew what was at the end of the line...and congratulations again on the fish. Those are some attractive rocks behind ya......where about is that? ...

HEY ROSS!!!!

TheSpecialist 08-07-2002 02:56 PM

bloocrab 08-07-2002 03:01 PM

...I am curious though....

..why did you call him "Larry Bird"???....

..Stripers have BIG mouths......you should have called him Emil Carr..:laughs: :laughs:

TheSpecialist 08-07-2002 03:14 PM

He was 33" long hence Larry Legend.:o

Re: I DiD it!!!

Indeed you did! I know I have seen those rocks before.

Sweetieface 08-08-2002 08:03 AM

I'm flattered, Bloocrab. Thanks.
But the fish bit because he knew he was overpowered by my massive fishing skills......... (ok, even *I'm* laughing at that!) I have a four inch bruise on my forearm from reeling the sucker in!

The rocks are beautiful, aren't they?
I am sorry, but if Carl taught me one thing: You cannot divulge your fishing locations......
If I do, you'll catch all the big ones and I'll have none!!!!!

Thanks again Specialist for posting that for me! :D

MightyMouse 08-08-2002 08:10 AM

Yeah, that fish looks kinda happy:D

Congrats again:happy:    :laughs:

Got Stripers 08-08-2002 09:18 AM

Congrats on your stripe, nice fish for sure, get a few more like that or bigger and you will be hooked for life.

Sweetieface 08-08-2002 09:37 AM

I already am hooked for life. After the first time I went, I was thinking about it all day long after.

It is like a drug.

And don't worry, I have clothes specially put aside just for my new favorite hobby....

Going out to buy my first rod next week. Any suggestions?

TheSpecialist 08-08-2002 03:15 PM

Go to a reputable store with your friend. Try the rods yourself, whats good for some of us may be not be good for you. Daiwa Sealine-X rods are a good price, light in weight, and have quality components.

Since I posted that picture, care to divulge to me any hotspots :D

jsox21 08-09-2002 12:29 PM

I use a Daiwa Sealine Surf and it is exactly as advertised, not too expense but it is really light and is a quality product...
