New Trailer
 

I sick of this %$%$%$%$ing piece of %$%$%$%$ american/karavan I got. 3 axles, at LEAST 7 bearings, 2x brake rebuild, lines are now junk, Lights suck, winch post folded over once til I replaced it with mt everest, etc etc etc. Just did another complete hub that was junk and another on the way. Parts place is 1.5 hours from here because the dooshbags in worcester went out of business...



Tandem axle 4100lb, brakes front, need room for large trailer box, good lights, good axles, etc etc etc WHAT WOULD YOU BUY TODAY?

bought one through walmsley in bristol/warren.

good solid dual axle. Holds our 25ft Romarine no problem, been to NY and back, as well as local.

I should mention I do ALOT of trailering. I cover EASILY 8-10k in a good year.

Boat is a loaded 21'er. 600 lbs of gas alone....

my buddy's put serious miles on a 'Shorelander' (basic tandem trailer w/rollers) that's pulled a 23 parker (same boat as Raider Rons) from Marshfield to the Cape a ton of times the last 3 + years. The biggest $$ he's put into it is swapping out the black rolles for the clear/yellowish poly jobs.

I have a load rite tandem going into it's 6th season, I have pulled this enough to have worn the tires out. The only maitenance so far has been to replace the brakes due to rust from the salt. The lubrication system for the bearings works, they are still oe. The major distributor to dealers in New England is located in Oxford,Ma. open Sat AM and has the parts you need.

yep it's right on route 12 (main st. ) just past ROX'S on the left heading to webster.

I was in the same spot as you. I bought a brand new 7000# aluminum Loadmaster tandem bunk trailer. It has made trailering a dream. Easy on, easy off, brakes that work very well, lights, etc.... a real pleasure to use! I would highly recommend.

I made the mistake buying a Karavan also. Apparently the co. has had its share of internal problems, brothers that can't get along. Not sure if that has anything to do with the quality issues.
My boat came with a Venture, yes I've replaced alot of brakes and bearings also, but it seems to be the price you pay for salt water dunking. You should be able to pick one up in that size, tandem axle for somewhere around 2500 to 3000 grand.

The best thing I ever did was buy a Load-Rite Tandam trailer great! All rollers yellow poly!
Scary when I first got it, cause the boat slides right off the trailer, almost dumped it on the ramp!
Had to have 3 men and a boy to get it off the old trailer!

After 3 years I have one light messing up, thats it.

Do yourself a favor and buy a Loadmaster, problem with Load Rite and some of the others is they use TIE DOWN actuators and other parts and those parts are JUNK! I had a brandnew Load Rite under my Hydra Sports and after 2 season I replaced more stuff on that thing than it was worth, bought the Loadmaster and OOOHH so nice. Not sure on the size boat you have but look into the front center bunks you may or may not need them, if you do buy the Loadmaster don't get the V bar in the front as I have one you can come get out of my garage if you want they cost around 80 bucks
