Loaded redfins
 

I am thinking about loading up a few 7" redfins and having a go with them. One questions, after they have been loaded up with 10CC H2O how deep do they run, or do they stay up on top like the stock plug?

First off 10cc is not enough, I not it sounds strange but up the ante to 15cc and you will see a big difference especially in big water.

A properly loaded red fin will tell you when it's running corectly and that is it should be running deep and skimming the sand and about a 1/4 inch of the paint and chrome on ther bottom edge of the lip will be sanded to clean bone white plastic.

I have been using loaded red fins since the late 70's (Tony C. first introduced them to the cape surf in the early 70's and began the practice of laoding them). They have always been in my bag since.

We now use un-loaded RF's for casting along the Elizabeths as well. Run nice right on the surface like a long skinny Danny.

Not so sure I agree flap... for beachee like you fish, than sure 15 will mimic a sand eel and probably be great. If fishing rockpiles like we have in RI, 15 will get you a one cast lure. 10 is more the norm around here.

Your probably right, I fish sand so...... 10cc is probably the way to go down there. A wise man said never tell someone how to fish thier own water, ain't that the truth.
