It is going to be an interesting year this year. I am pretty sure the big guns last year were all mass comms [boat], so they will not have the surf bonus we have. They will probably have to land 10 50+lbers to beat us!!!!

Rockport24 06-01-2007 02:28 PM

wow that surf advantage thing is great huh? Looks like we got a good edge there!

The winning club last year was Bass & Brew out of (I think?) Fairhaven. Mostly commercial boaters, although they still weighed in fish before and after commercial season. I'm pretty sure one member entered 4-5 of their top fish. He was the Angler of the Year for 2006. They had close to a 48 lb average. Our average, right now, with the shore bonus, is between 47-48 lbs. ;)

The shore bonus and the rule that only a member's top 2 fish count towards points, will put us in very good shape. To top a shore 40, you need a 53 lb boat.

I won't say we're going to win, but last year, I think the top 5 clubs got plaques at the awards ceremony. Unless the sky falls in on us, I say we're a lock for the top 5. :humpty:

way to go guys!

Mike, Bass and Brew is Charlie Sores group out of I think Swansea, Ma.

So just to be sure we need to weigh a fish Higher than 44.20 to make a difference?
