Canal loaded with mackeral and herring

Fished from 3 am till 8. I caught nothing, except a small mackeral that beached itself at my feet, of course I re-rigged and tossed it out, only to have the 8/0 hook tear through it. Saw many keepers taken this morning, a pair of guys where hauling 3 fish over 36" down one of the bike paths!! Another guy had what looked to be at least a 30lb fish strapped to the back of his bike.

The water was boiling with stripes and blues killing the massive schools of mackeral and herring. I have never seen it this busy ever. I was fishing about a 1/4 mile east of the herring run on the same side as it. Guys on either side of me cought schoolies and a few bluefish. Hot, hot action.

I sucked, I had a few hits, but couldn't seem to hook anything. Was anyone else in on this party today?
