MA boat taxes...what is the stroy?

What are the boat sales tax and use tax in MA?
Specifically:

Is there a sales tax on used boats?

Is there a personal property tax or some sort of annual use tax on boats in MA?

5%, you have to pay it before you can register your boat.

This is Massachusetts, everything is taxed, over and over and over again. Thank god I don't smoke. $5.75 a pack. YIKES.

unless you commercial fish, then you can write most of it off, ha ha ha.

Welcome to Massachusetts where the sun never shines and bending over and caughing is a way of life. In fact, I think I heard Mass now charges an entertainment tax on even that! Can you say Big Dig?

Of all the problems in 'Lil Rhody, fortunately there is no sales tax on boats :D ...
