NE WIND
What's your opinion on fishing with this strong NE wind that is forcasted for the next few days?
I like it a several CC Bay locations. Just if you can get out there is another story as it is usually rough.
NE / E usually represents a drop in barometric pressure which tends to push the fish deeper. It is rougher than our prevailing sou'westerly winds so it make for challenging and sometimes dangerous conditions.
How about in regards to shore fishing in places like the canal?
Acouple of years ago fished a gale ne best fishing I ever had,
tough condtions but the fish were there. Last year got a keeper in 35 ne gusting to 50. Its tough fishing but i am hooked. This is from shore bro. wouldnt want to be in a boat in these condition. |
With the new moon this week the west tide is astronomically fast in the canal, 4.67 knots tonight and going to 4.9 over the next few days. Push it with NE at 15-20..... Its gonna be screamin....
I just hope the water doesn't turn brown... |
I really like a NE wind moving from left to right at this special place out on BI,,,,,
I like to stay in the harbors near structure... the fish gotta go somewhere....
Get to deep water, it wont quite matter at that point....
My local after work spots fish great on NE wind. Easy casting. Hmm... dropping tide in a little over an hour and somewhat reduced boating traffic due to conditions...:boots:
