So all the theories on catching keeper bass just went out the door...

Just heard from my father as the 'rents just got back from a week on the boat over in Cuttyhunk...

Coming around Cannapissit (sp?) trolling (going south through then heading west through the boulders... not possible in a big boat) a broken back Rapala... in the middle of the afternoon BANG

25lb bass

2nd fish a couple days later

same thing

35lb bass

so where was that about only catching big bass at night on eels on the first mood of the last day of the first month of the last year of blahblahblahblah?

LOL

god that pissed me off ;)

so yes... one of the secret spots is holding fish very well this year...

although it was kinda off considering i'd only pulled big bass outa there on poppers... luck of the draw as usual... and hungry bass...

Well dagnabbit, doesn't it just suck that fishing out of a boat in the bassiest smelling water A N Y W H E R E and there happens to be fish, what were the odds :crying: ;) .

If all of us were so unlucky to be forced to fish those waters from a boat.

Seriously, that's one sweet rip thru there :D

Let us go back to about 1972 or so and picture a FAC mid day, after lunch as the fleet comes out on a September day. Bright Sunny afternoon. As I round the first black can I see A. P. Tilton with two rods doubled over half way to the Bell Bouy. I slow down at the # 3 and set out my flat three hooked Norwegian Worm rigs and slowly go off towards twenty five to thirty feet of water.. I again notice Capt. A. P. Tilton but now he has a gaff in his hand and the leader from one of his rods in the other hand. I am approaching within 50 feet or so and A. P. calls over something about "which fish should I gaff first?"
Later we asked him what he had and he said he was fishing a three hook rig and had three fish, all over forty five pounds!
When the fish are there that is a "HOT SPOT", day, night, or in between.

Yeah, I've always loved cannapissit... Never a day has gone that I've thrown a plug in there and not caught *SOMETHING* whether it be a bass or blue...

Worship the mighty god known as Cuttyhunk...
